We sell the spare parts too

Vessel started with a simple irritation: a good bottle thrown away because a two-euro gasket had perished and nobody sold a replacement. Everything here is designed around that being impossible.

How we decide what to make

Four rules that have killed more product ideas than they have approved.

It has to fit the thread

A new bottle that needs its own lid is a new inventory of spare parts nobody will stock in five years. If it cannot take the existing cap, it does not get made.

One material, named

If we cannot write the material on the page in plain words, it is the wrong material. That rules out most composites and every unnamed coating.

The wear part must be buyable

Gaskets, lids, straws and base covers are catalogue items with their own page, not warranty exceptions.

It must survive the dishwasher

Bodies go on the top rack and come out unchanged after five hundred cycles, or the finish is wrong.

The refill count, and how we get it

One refill a day across a five-year warranty is 1,825 fills. We quote 167 because that is the honest number for a single 500 ml bottle measured against 500 ml single-use bottles over the first year — the figure people can actually check against their own habit.
We would rather publish the small honest number than the large flattering one.
