PawCare opened on Riverside Avenue in 2009 with one veterinarian and a rented consulting room. Seventeen years later there are five veterinarians, nine nurses and a building designed around the animals in it.

How we got here
The clinic began because Dr. Linh Pham was tired of referring every blood test across the city and waiting three days for an answer. The first piece of equipment she bought was an analyser.
Everything on one site
Laboratory, imaging and surgery are in the same building, so a diagnosis rarely takes more than a day.
The same person each visit
You can request your veterinarian. For chronic disease, continuity changes the outcome.
Prices before procedures
A written estimate comes first. Nothing is added to it without a conversation.

Treat the animal in front of us
Protocols are a starting point. An anxious cat, an elderly dog and a rabbit do not get the same appointment.
Say the cost first
No procedure begins without a written estimate you have agreed to. If the findings change, we stop and ask.
Offer the option of doing less
Every plan includes what happens if you do nothing. Sometimes watching and waiting is the right answer.
Write it down and hand it over
Notes, results and images go into your account the same day, in language you can read without us.
Seventeen years on Riverside Avenue
2009
The clinic opens. One veterinarian, one nurse, one consulting room and an in-house blood analyser bought before the furniture.
2014
Digital X-ray installed and the first surgical theatre built at the back of the building.
2017
Ultrasound and a third veterinarian. Internal medicine cases stop being referred across the city.
2019
Dental radiography arrives with Dr. Hartley, and the dental service is rebuilt around saving teeth rather than removing them.
2021
Overnight emergency team. Our own veterinarians replace the out-of-hours referral arrangement.
2023
The building is rebuilt with two entrances, separate dog and cat waiting rooms and a sound-dampened ward.
2026
Digital records open to owners, so every visit note, result and X-ray can be read at home.
